Heath Miller TE Virginia 6’5 255 Jr.
By: Robert Davis

Heath Miller has been one of the top performers at the TE position since he put on a Cavalier uniform. He was named freshman all american after catching 33 passes for 327 yards and 9 touchdowns. He double his receptions and yardage a year later, with 70 catches for 835 yards and 6 touchdowns. He received various all american honors for his sophomore year success. As a junior his numbers dipped a little, but he was still a factor. He hauled in 41 catches for 541 yards and 5 touchdowns. He received the Mackey award, which goes to the nation’s top tight end this season. Three times during his career he was also voted ACC offensive lineman of the week, showing his all around ability as a blocker.

Heath Miller is a very good all around tight end. He has good athletic ability, showing the ability to get open and make plays once he does catch the ball. He has awesome hands, and will be a red zone threat for the team that drafts him. He is also a willing blocker, and is above average in this category.

Miller isn’t the freak athlete that you generally see in a 1st round tight end. He isn’t the biggest, the fastest, or the most athletic player at his position. He probably won’t be a huge playmaker in the NFL because he lacks the top notch athletic ability to make plays downfield.

Heath Miller is just a very good football player. He isn’t going to blow you away physically, but he will be there on every play and show up for your football team. He looks like a solid first rounder to me, somewhere in the second half of the first round.
