Jeff Webb

NFL Draft News

Jeff Webb WR 6'2 211 San Diego St.
By: Robert Davis

Jeff Webb has flown under the radar because he played for the Aztecs. But he was one of the more productive wideouts in the college game over the past three years. As a sophomore in 2003, Webb caught 55 balls for 706 yards and four touchdowns. As a junior, he improved to 71/863/6 on the season. He went out with career highs across the board as a senior, hauling in 92 balls for 1,109 yards, and 10 touchdowns.

Webb is the master of making the difficult grab look easy. Throughout his career, he made a name for himself with his acrobatic receptions. He has excellent body control, and combined with his size could make him a major weapon in the red zone. Webb is physical, and will go over the middle to make a grab. He also has very good straight-line speed.

Even though he has good long range speed, he takes awhile to get up to top speed, and does not change direction well. He has good size, but will need to bulk up more, because he has a lean frame and could take a beating over the middle in the NFL, where he will have to make his mark.

Webb is a player that has the ability to be a red zone and intermediate threat, and can also get down the field vertically and make plays. He won't make many plays with the ball in his hands though. Webb may hear his name called in the third, but wherever he is drafted, he has the talent to make an impact in the NFL.
