Chevis Jackson LSU DB 6' 192 4.62

Jackson played in all 12 games as a true freshman, but only managed to be in on five tackles. As a sophomore he moved into the starting lineup and came through with 47 tackles, 3.5 for loss, and a interception on the year. As a junior last year, he had 46 tackles and two picks. He closed out his Tiger career with 44 tackles, three for loss, and five interceptions.

Jackson is a solid all around corner prospect. He is athletic, quick, and tough and can do a lot of things on the field. He has the athleticism and ability to stay with receivers in and out of their breaks. Jackson shows excellent ball skills, being able to locate the ball while it is in the air and make a play on it. He will not back down from bigger receivers and is willing to throw his body around in run support.

Jackson lacks ideal speed, and can be beat at times. He will have difficult running down the field vertically with receivers. He can have some trouble with quick receivers that are elusive and change directions well.

Jackson may lack the big time upside because he lacks the speed to cover a lot of the receivers today. He is a solid performer though that can do a lot of things well. He could potentially move to free safety because of his toughness and tackling ability.
