DeJuan Tribble CB 5'9 189 Boston College 4.58

After a redshirt year in 2003, Tribble had 29 tackles and three interceptions his first season on the field. As a sophomore, he moved into the starting lineup and came through with 57 tackles and two picks on the year. His junior season was a breakout year, where he had 49 tackles and seven interceptions on his way to All ACC honors. A knee injury forced him to miss three games, but he still had 33 tackles, two for loss, and four picks as a senior.

Tribble is a feisty corner that is very active and aggressive. He is not afraid to come up in run support and make a play, and he’s not afraid of a challenge against big time receivers. As a cover man, he has the speed and quickness to keep up with receivers down the field. Tribble is a big play corner, as he has 11 career picks and he has returned three of them for touchdowns. He also provides an impact on special teams, with experience as a kick and punt returner.

Size is the obvious issue with Tribble. He may be smaller than his listed size, and that will hinder his potential at the next level. He can be physically outmatched by bigger receivers, and that will only be exploited even more at the next level.

Tribble has the ball skills and aggressiveness to play corner in the NFL. His size will hurt him some, but he has the skills to overcome it. He failed to distinguish himself amongst a deep pool of defensive backs, so he may not hear his name called until the fourth round in April.
