Rumours that Mercedes are pursuing Bottas.

While I like Bottas, it seems like an uninspired choice.

Mercedes were definitely caught off-guard with the Rosberg retirement. They really do not look like they had any plan for replacing him in place.

Now that Silly Season is over and all the top drivers have signed contracts for next year it's going to be very difficult to get anyone good.

I still think there's a chance Rosberg is back next season.

Going out on top is all well and good, but he's probably never been better than he is right now. That will be in the back of his mind and if he's any kind of competitor, he'll be second guessing himself already.

Yeah I'm cautiously optimistic for the season. Really hope my Haas boys can take the next step in their development this year.

I'm hoping for a three way battle between Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari.

Anything but another boring year of Mercedes, then everybody else.

As Ferrari fan I really hope they can close the distance between them and Mercedes. To be honest I don't really care where the challenge comes from but someone has to step up and take them down a level or two. It gets annoying seeing them dominate race after race.

Well hopefully for once Ferrari's winter testing pace is the real deal! It's been too long as a Ferrari fan!!!

Force India's new livery is hideous. I get they did it for a sponsor, but come one bubble gum pink?! On the flip side, hopefully it means they're continuing to grow as a power (resisted urge to use force as a pun...) and can keep being serious midfield contenders who can pop up onto the podium from time to time.

1 week until the first race. Hoping Ferrari's pace is legit.

The Alonso situation will be interesting to watch unfold over the course of the season. He's out of contract at the end of the year, so is Bottas. I'd love to see Alonso in a competitive car again and challenging for titles.

Williams v Force India will be an interesting battle too. Though, that new colour scheme Rolling Eyes

In big news, I was able to take in the Australian GP in person on race day.

Awesome event to catch live. Not a lot of passing cars ran in order for most of the race barring pitstops. Will be interesting to see how things progress when we get to tracks more conducive to overtaking.

Can't believe no one is talking about Alonso skipping Monaco for the Indy 500. Personally I'm very excited to see it happen Cool

Hopefully that encourages more F1 drivers to start venturing over.

That's awesome! I've always wondered what it's like live. On one hand you miss the vast majority of the lap. But still...live...

I love Alonso, and I understand his frustration so I'm glad he's doing this. That said, starting to get a bit weary of his pouting. Glad he'll be off the grid for a bit to be honest. Don't get me wrong I hope he ends up at Williams next year and wins the title with them or something crazy like that. But just a hiatus.

Merc's bringing in a new package for Spain. God I hope Ferrari has something to match the dev in the near future or else this exciting season is going to take a turn for the worse.

Loved watching Bottas take the last race. The guy seems so down to earth he's easy to root for. That said, Seb and Kimi better not let that happen again Evil or Very Mad

This is what I've missed about F1 - a head to head fight between drivers from different teams with those teams using the slower driver on the day to help the faster one.

This feels like the late 90s again.

Yea Spain was a thriller. Fernando popped up into 4th in practice at Indy 500. Makes me wish we could throw him in the title chase with Seb and Lewis even more.

What a great GP, Ferrari goes 1-2 & Haas scores double points for the first time Cool
