If I had to guess I'd say a perimeter coach is focused on the perimeter... 
And GB with Rodgers loves to attack the perimeter
GB uses Monty out wide, but he's in the RB room
GB uses J. Cook out wide, but he's in the TE room
They both will have perimeter catching and blocking roles
Luke Getsy is the WR coach and is focused on the players by position, perhaps the perimeter coach is focused on the players by alignment, especially those that aren't in the WR room. |

Wonder what control Dorsey had over the Mahomes decision, and the level of influence Reid had, or whether it was collaborative and KC knew Dorsey would be leaving post-draft.
Very odd timing, that's for sure.

Ill take Dorsey back any day. I don't really want him and the heir to Ted, I'd rather have Wolf or Russ but I think someone working with either of those first timers who has the experience of Dorsey would be invaluable.

| I'd like to see him back in GB .. high quality front office guy, and we've lost several guys the past few years. It seems like he'd be a good addition if he wants to jump right back in. |

I was just saying this to someone how we lost so many guys yet lately we've be worried about losing a handful more. Kinda wild |

He's still getting paid by KC this season so even if he comes back to GB for this season to keep his head in the game, I'd be all for that.

Reid is represented by Bob La Monte, the King Maker of coaching agents
This is a very long article about LaMonte and his rise to power along with his HS teaching buddy Holmgren. They were both [inappropriate/removed] poor high school teachers in the Bay Area and never dreamed of making big in the NFL

i cant imagine JD not getting a shot next season by one of many teams thatll most likely ditch there GM if they know they have a chance at landing him.
hes a pretty coveted name because of the tree he comes from & certainly has decent resume even if its short in GM years... & that alone will make him a top candidate for someone unless there is some unfavorable personal situation that hasn't yet been released |

Now I'll admit I immediately thought of Scotty McCough in Washington, and how that unraveled. Exceptional talent evaluator, but there's more to the story kind of thing.

I think that's what happened. Dumb move by KC. We should bring him back to take advantage of their incredible mistake to mentor Eliot Wolf. Keep Russ Ball where he is, he's done a terrific job. Let Ted ride off into the sunset after we've won the Super Bowl... |
