Never too early for this thread. Like to make my yearly big claim (Im usually pretty close, 2015 my claim was we wouldn't draft anyone over 250 pounds and only Ringo was, 2016 my prediction was no one over 240 lbs and Trevor Davis was it, this year it was we'd go heavy on the skills, was looking like I was totally wrong until the 4th round )
This is the hardest year to make a claim, I feel like we had a really balanced draft, and didn't leave any glaring hole. I'll say next year breaks the 7 years straight of defensive 1st picks. Although I don't feel confident as I think a young EDGE will be high on our needs list. I could see Bulaga breaking down this year and I believe next year is supposed to be a good OT draft. Spriggs will get trained as an OG and OT this year and moves inside next year and we draft a RT next year. _________________

Trevor Davis can't squat 240. _________________ GO PACK GO!

12 Draft Picks in 2018. Plus we are likely to receive additional compensation for Hundley via trade.
That's after 10 Picks in 2017.
This team is about to get really young. |

At the moment I can't think of any needs.
I'm sure that will change by the end of the season. |

Interior oline probably. TE depth and maybe a starting WR depending on what happen with Jordy (age) Cobb(injuries) and Adams( inconsistencies)
Dline will probably need depth as well and LB could use it as well, maybe a starter depending on how many reps Clay and Perry give us. Corner could be a need as well if Randall and Rollins play as bad as last year. |

I thought this year was bad. Next year EVERYBODY is going to be screaming for us to take a receiver in round one. And we still won't.
I'm almost positive we go with a linebacker with our first pick next year. Even if we lose Adams, we're not taking a receiver until at least the second round. We're very young and very talented on the defensive line, offensive line, secondary, running backs and so on.
My prediction right now...
EDGE
ILB
WR
With our first three picks. |

I agree with most of this.
EDGE
WR/LB
TE/ILB
OL
DL

Edge/ILB in the first two rounds. heck, if the value is there double dip at ILB in two of the first three rounds. Ryan and Martinez aint all that and a bag of potato chips. They can be improved upon. Fine depth guys, but can be improved on. _________________ Cutler Cutlering. Its so beautiful - Bears Are Legit |

Commotion?
Two people mentioned it secondarily as a potential spot we target.

Come on Central.
Apparently commotion was the wrong word if it truly elicited that type of response from you. |

I feel like "Packer fans are clamoring for an ILB or a TE" is an indicator that the roster is in a pretty good place.
Of course, that feeling tends to pass. |

Lane Taylor is in the last year of his deal.
Linsley is in the last year of his deal.
Evans is in the last year of his deal.
I'm shocked TT isn't better prepared for this. He is almost always a year ahead as far as having some guys available.
I assume as of right now Barclay is the backup center ? I don't want to enter the season with that much less try to get thru the season that way.
I have to think OL is pretty high on the list for next year |
