With the Finals coming to an end in the worst way possible, let's look to the offseason for the other 30 teams while the Pens celebrate another victory.

Stuff should really get interesting with the expansion draft. I feel like Vegas is going to be really active taking on some unwanted players for assets or making agreements not to take players in the draft.

Discuss rumors, trades, buyouts, expansion draft, etc. here. I'll start a draft thread this weekend probably.

I expect Buffalo to be very active. Already signed Viktor Antipin and I expect another top 4 defenseman. Evander Kane will likely get dealt and hopefully we dump Josh Gorges or Matt Moulson to expansion draft

Still have no idea which way the Devils are leaning in regards to Patrick vs Hischier...

So here is what we know:

- Cap will be a flat cap, so it will be 73M. Team that is screwed the most? Blackhawks. They'll move a core player.

- By tonight 5PM, we will know if any vets have been asked to waive their NMC. Rumored ones are Phanuef, Yandle and Bieksa.

- There are probably a few trades done already (Kruger is a Knight etc.) but will be reported now since the playoffs are done (I repeat in the worst possible fashion).

- Tons of rumored names moving this offseason. Duchene, Drouin, Brodin/Dumba, Hamonic/De Haan, Vatenen, Eberle and Kovy. All likely to be traded.

Hoping for a wild summer.

You guys should surprisingly have a fairly decent D and goalie situation. Especially compared to previous expansions like Atlanta.

Exciting time for the Flyers!

Out: Vandevelde, Schultz, Del Zotto, Mason (?)
In: Patrick/Hischer, Lindblom, Morin, Hagg

Here's to hoping Vegas wants to take MacDonald off of our hands if not a buyout wouldn't be the worst move as it would open up 3+mil in cap space the next 3 years for only 1.8 mil in the last 3 years.

Other Vegas targets: Raffl, Read, Weise, and Neuvirth

Might need to find a goalie again and we may also have the youngest defense in the league, after MacDonald Gudas is the next oldest guy at 27.

Friedman says he thinks CBJ & VGK have a deal where David Clarkson lands in Vegas, along with a 1st + prospect (960).

This would be so good for Vegas. And is Columbus really that cap strapped where they need to do this? They won't pick until the 3rd round this year.

McKenzie said the NHLPA still has to decide on the inflator. He said it's likely not to be the usual 5% but won't be 0%. 2% would increase the cap by 1.4M.

Right now they're looking at around $2-3 million in cap space with Wennberg as a RFA (and to a lesser degree, Gagner a UFA). Getting Clarkson's $5.25M off the books is huge, even if it takes a 1st round pick to get rid of. There's also rumblings that they may have some interest in Kovalchuk, so that may have something to do with this.

The Sabres got a great person for GM in Jason Botterill. He was a key figure in helping the Pens get two Cups. Great hire. Not sure who he will pick as coach though. I've heard either Phil Housley or Rick Tocchet.

Marc-Andre Fleury looks like he is on his way to Vegas.

Agreed. Happy to have MAF in net. Of course, we'll really struggle to score goals. I was hoping we'd add Evgenii Dadonov in hopes of getting some firepower between him and Shipachyov

Should be a fun off season especially with the cap staying the same and the Vegas situation. For my Senators I'm hoping we make a run at Matt Duchene. We have the prospects to do it.
